Dr. Laura is a Colorado Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Nebraska Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She received her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University in 2021, writing a dissertation focusing on the marital coping strategies and resilience factors of couples with one partner diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Deficiency. She completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2012 from Regent University and received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Special Education and Early Childhood Development in 2006 from Old Dominion University.
Since 2013, Dr. Laura has worked with clients in various settings, including private practice, residential substance abuse treatment, county jails, and community mental health. Much of her work in these settings has been with teens, young adults, couples, and families struggling with addiction, ADHD, and other mental health disorders. Dr. Laura loves helping adults with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders navigate adulthood and helping couples have better relationships.
Prior to relocating to Colorado in 2017, Dr. Laura worked as a therapist in Fallon, Nevada, and Silverdale, Washington (where she started her first private practice). She is trained in the Relationship Attachment Model and Prepare-Enrich.
Dr. Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 sons. She is a proud Boy Scout Mom, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and has previously volunteered with Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) and TeenMOPS.
Laura is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the American Counseling Association.
